Club de Tango Workshops and Performances

 

 

October 19th - 21st October, sees Champagne Tango’s second in its series of Interstate Tango Teachers, Peter Waller and Lisa De Lazzari from Club de tango in Sydney!

 

October 19th - Club de tango will be performing at our Milonga on Friday 19th October in the hall of the heritage church, St Aidan’s Uniting Church 26 Princess Road Claremont 6010 and Lisa, who has won Best Niche DJ in Sydney in the Alternative Media Awards, has graciously offered to be our DJ that evening as well.

Ethos of Club de Tango

 

This pioneering duo regard tango as an evolving journey and have a great ability to identify individual needs of their students; they aim to bring out the best in their students, impart ‘a bit of tango soul’ and pass on high quality tuition, concentrating on connection, technique and musicality.

Workshops concentrate on Fundamentals and Styling

All workshops are Open level, suitable for complete beginners to advance

1 hour Private Lesson

Many dancers (new and seasoned) find that the definitive way to accelerate their tango learning is to enrol in private classes from time to time. Such lessons are tailor made to individual requirements, allowing the teachers to focus on the elements you most like, most need improvements or add accelerated elements to your dancing etc. For bookings, email info@champagnetangoperth.com

Club de tango - Professional Tango Accomplishments

  • Club de tango is the pioneer of Tango in Sydney, hosting workshops, classes, milongas & international teachers since 1999;
  • Peter Waller is recognized and listed as a judge by the World Tango Championships S.A. (T.C.S.) in Buenos Aires; he was also a Director of the Tango Championships in Australia and Director and Founder of The Sydney International Tango Festival in 2005, 2006;
  • Lisa De Lazzari is widely acknowledged as one of the leading female tango dancers and teachers in Australia and she is Sydney’s Leading Tango DJ having won Best Niche DJ in Sydney against DJ’s from all genres of music in the Alternative Media Awards;
  • Club de tango students have the most successful record at the Australian Tango Championships, placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the salon category and 1st in the Stage Category. Many of their students are now themselves, teaching around Sydney, Canberra and Newcastle;
  • Club de tango has a long list of professional performances with the highlight being exclusive dancers with world leading Bandoneonist Daniel Binelli & pianist Polly Ferman, receiving the highest compliments for their performances from the Argentine, Uruguayan and Brazilian Ambassadors as well as Directors of Australian Dance Council;
  • Club de tango were contracted for three performances promoting Argentine tourism on behalf of the Argentine Government at the 57th Congress of the International Fiscal Association in Sydney, 2003;
  • Club de tango has performed Tango around Australia, including two performances at the Sydney Opera House, performances at the Darwin Festival in “Four on the Floor” and numerous TV and radio appearances have included a “Sixty Minutes” segment with Clive James and interviews on ABC in relation to the “Tango Fire” stage show.
